Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
