This January transfer window proves to be a time of significant speculation and potential major moves. A number of prominent players find themselves connected to transfers away from their current clubs. This article explores some of the major names who could be on the move this month.

This England defender has continued to excel for Palace despite a summer move to Liverpool collapsing. As his deal set to run out in the summer, this represents the club's last chance to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. A host of top sides, such as City and multiple continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to be interested. Yet, a January departure is considered difficult, especially given the manager's dependence on the player.

Brennan Johnson

The Welsh winger has had first-team opportunities hard to come by at Spurs this campaign. This much-admired Dutch teenage midfielder has earned parallels to a Belgian superstar for his style of play. Following starring at the U19 Euros, he has become a regular in the AZ first team. The teenager is widely expected to make a big-money transfer in January. Newcastle United reportedly are frontrunners, but are facing stiff competition from the Spanish champions for a deal valued at around twenty-two million pounds.
