Space-Based Photographs Depict Iranian Naval Forces and Nuclear Sites Targeted by Joint US and Israeli Military Action.

A series of joint airstrikes has reportedly destroyed or damaged a minimum of 11 Iranian naval vessels since the weekend, freshly analyzed orbital imagery reveal, with rocket sites and atomic facilities also being targeted.

Pictures of the southern Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas port facility, which overlooks the strategic Hormuz Strait and is home to the headquarters of the Iranian navy, depict plumes of smoke rising from a number of vessels on the start of the week.

Naval Fleet Sustained Significant Losses

Included in the targets eliminated was the Makran, the country's largest naval vessel which had served as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Aerial imagery indicated black smoke emanating from the ship which had been stationed at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence reports state that at least five ships at Bandar Abbas were "damaged or eliminated". Imagery of the south end of the harbor depict smoke emanating from the IRINS Makran, while additional ships appear to be damaged, with one of them clearly on fire.

At the Konarak base, images display several stricken ships, with expert review pointing to damage to a half-dozen warships. Photos from Monday also indicate that several structures at the installation have been destroyed.

"For many years the Iran's leadership has disrupted international shipping," the head of US Central Command declared. "At present, there is not a single Iranian vessel operational in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Sea of Oman, and we will continue."

Some vessels allegedly destroyed may have been obscured in aerial photos by haze or plumes, or struck at sea, and have not been independently verified. Other accounts stated that a ship from Iran was going down near Sri Lanka's territorial waters, leading to a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Bases and Nuclear Facilities Attacked

Eliminating Iranian missile bases and the stopping enrichment activities were listed as other goals of the military strikes. Satellite images also depicted impacts against the southerly Khorgu and north-western Tabriz missile bases, and at the Konarak air base, where rocket warehouses and fortifications were hit.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e unmanned aircraft site west of the city of Kermanshah, widespread destruction was identified to sheds, underground facilities and drone launch equipment.

Impact was also observed at a radar site at the Zahedan airbase military airport in eastern Iran, near the border with neighboring nations.

Of particular note, the new round of attacks have apparently hit installations at the Natanz complex – long said to be at the center of the country's atomic program. An international watchdog commented that the affected buildings were used for access to the facility's below-ground nuclear plant and that "no radiological consequence" was likely.

Broader Fallout and Assessment

Military analysts indicated that the strikes appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iran's naval capability to carry out standard operations using its largest warships. Nevertheless, it was stressed that Tehran retains the capacity to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of drones, midget subs and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The total extent of the destruction caused to Iranian military facilities has yet to be fully assessed, with hostilities reportedly persisting. Pictures also reveals widespread destruction to the command center of the the IRGC in the capital Tehran.

A large number of non-military structures also are reported to have been struck in the capital city and across the country after the conflict started. Reports of deaths from local officials indicate that a high number of civilians may have been fatally injured in the attacks.

With the conflict ongoing, analysis of aerial photographs will continue to track the unfolding military landscape.
